Tips for maintaining your BDSM-relationship

My Master and I have been living for some years now as Master and slave and we both enjoy it!
In this time we met and have heard about some other couples that failed with their BDSM-relationship. The reasons where different: Some broke up for various reasons but most of them turned from hard to vanilla in a pretty short time. We sometimes are asked how we manage to keep our Master slave relationship alive over such a long time.
So here are some tips I can give from my point of view if you want to keep your BDSM-relationship:

1. Make rituals
Rituals help you and your Master keep your BDSM-relationship without a question and help it over busy times at work etc. For example: Every time I get home I have to get naked, wear my collar and cuffs. Then I have to kneel down, lick my Masters feet and only after that I'm allowed to go on with other things. This really helps me to set the tone for the rest of the day and the transition from the "outside"-world to being a slave in our flat. We have several rituals which are never questioned, neither by me or by my Master.

2. Be flexible.
Ok I have to admit that contradicts a little bit what I have written before. But sometimes work is just too much, or there are other problems with family and friends that need to stretch the rules a little bit for a short period of time. Even at the busiest times I follow the homecoming rule like written above, but in other parts my Master is more flexible. I really am thankful for that and I'am much more submissive soon after everything gets better to show him my thankfulness.

3. Talk a lot!
Like in every good relationship you should talk a lot about your feelings and communicate. My Master is interested in my thoughts and what bothers and interests me. That helps him to train me. For me it is the same with the thoughts of my Master. We have seen that Master and slaves that communicate only via commands have failed and ended their relationship.

4. Write
Sometimes talking is not enough. So my Master has encouraged/ordered me to write a journal and also this blog. This gives him insights in things which I might not be able to talk about directly to him, things that are important in my training. I have autonomy in what I'm writing, so I don't have to fear being punished, as long as I don't lie etc.

5. Love it or change it!
Although this post is about keeping up your BDSM-relationship their might be circumstances where both partners are better off with a vanilla relationship. That is why it is important to communicate a lot. If you see that one or both partners are unhappy with the situation you should change it to the better for both of you and not have the fear of failing. To state it clear: I'm a born slave and love my relationship with my Master the way it is. So I do everything to keep it that way. I love you Sir!

  1. Fellow slave, know that you inspire me. I really love being a slave and it is my true calling in life. Yet every day I must center myself saying out loud I am a slave, I am His property.

  2. Dear fellow slave, thank you for your nice words!. I'm speechless that I might inspire another slave - I would not have thought of that. It is good to hear that there are other slaves that serve a Master permanently and have this true slave nature!
