How BDSM plays with stereotypes and roles of our society

Wether we want it or not our society has several roles, stereotypes and norms embedded. Some of those roles are quite old fashioned and have been fought by a lot of people over the last decades. I really love how one way to play with this roles is BDSM and how BDSM does not care about these roles or even more loves to change them in any way we want. For example in many cultures women are seen as the "weak" sex and for a long time there have been pictures that it is the womens role to serve men as housewives and to please their husbands any given time. Now I am really happy to see on twitter and other platforms a lot of women who turn this picture around. They look up the dicks of their husbands, they make it all about their lust and they make their husbands stay at home and take care of the cooking, cleaning etc. I really enjoy these pictures!

It can bee the same with older and younger people. In many societys older people are more respected than younger people, and younger people are told to listen to older people. But in BDSM you can have it the other way round: of an older slave submitting to a younger Master.

The same goes for professions, education, dick sizes etc. BDSM shows pictures of men in suits running a company submitting to men who in real life work for others as employees.  BDSM can mean that a muscular guy with a huge dick, which would be normally seen as powerful, submitts to a non muscular male or female.

Of course that BDSM loves to play with these stereotypes of roles of our society does not change real problems. But it is one way to show those stereotypes and to play with them. But the great thing about BDSM is, that it is not only the opposite of the norms of our society but it can anything we decide. Of course we have men serving women, but we also have women serving men voluntary as submissives. Men submitting to a couple, women submtiting to couple. It is great to see all those variations - let's embrace them!
